Safari Kichaka

Prepared for Conny
July 20th to August 3rd 2026

In Brief

Welcome to Safari Kichaka, meaning 'bush' in Swahili, where luxury intertwines with the wild for an unforgettable blend of comfort and adventure. Embark on an exhilarating journey through the heart of Africa, where stunning landscapes and vibrant wildlife unite to create a once-a-lifetime safari experience.

After a refreshing night at the beautiful Tumbili Lodge Arusha, set off on an exciting drive into the African wilderness, starting with the Tarangire, known for its ancient Baobab and Tanzania's largest elephant population. Your adventure continues north to the Serengeti, the wonders of migration come to life, showcasing the breathtaking savannah and the majestic wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles as they traverse the challenging River Mara. Once you've marveled at the Great Migration, we’ll explore the central region, for its magnificent big cats, before heading south to relax the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. Imagine an early morning game drive in this UNESCO World Heritage site, surrounded by the spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley.

Throughout your journey, you'll experience the comfort and style of authentic camps and boutique lodges, each designed to immerse you in the true essence of Africa. Following your adventure, we will transport you to the beautiful island of Zanzibar, where you can unwind the pristine white sands next to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 2-3

After a heart breakfast your adventure will begin with a road trip to Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2 hour drive where we will spend the next two nights.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is one of my favourite parks and is the sixth largest park in the country with 2,850 square kilometres of wilderness. Elephants, and other animals, are always confident of finding water in Tarangire and in the driest of seasons they will dig the river bed or visit the swamp, a sort of water tank for the region. In desperate times, the elephants will strip the bark from the Baobab trees that define Tarangire and squeeze out the water.

There is something for everyone in Tarangire and for the ornithologists there are also almost 600 species of birds to admire. Being so large you need to spend time in Tarangire, exploring the different areas, and my personalfavourite is Silale Swamp which has a wonderful picnic area.

Highlights

Famous for its iconic Baobab trees

Large herds of elephants

Over 600 species of birds
